Strange Hybrid Animals - Zorse

The Zorse is another hybrid animals just like the Zonkey but instead of breeding a donkey and a zebra they take a male Zebra and breed it with a female horse. This hybrid animal has the physical appearance of the female horse, but has the stripes of a zebra.

As far as compatibility between the horse and the zebra, the horse has 64 chromosomes, and zebras depending on what species it is can have between 44 and 62 chromosomes. However when you breed these two animals and produce a Zorse it only has 63 chromosomes and is sterile.

The Zorse is not all that uncommon and can be easily bought if you have enough money for one of these weird animals. Most Zorse foals cost somewhere in the $10,000 range from what I hear, but is a Zorse is not rare enough for you there is always the Hebra.

The Hebra which is rarer than the Zorse is what you get when you breed a male horse with a female zebra. Either way these animals are neat to look at, but are not as easy to train and ride as a horse.
